Bishop’s Castle
Bishop’s Castle is an historic market town situated on a hill. It is recognised as a dementia-friendly community. Its narrow streets and steep incline may be difficult to navigate for those with limited mobility. However they are key accessible buildings throughout the town:

- St John the Baptist Church has a ramp available and offers step-free access;
- The Church Barn, around the corner from the Church offers step free access;
- The Castle Hotel has step free access at the rear of the building. Please note that this is a 300 year old building with period features such as uneven flooring.

Parking and Arrival
The car park is on a field out of town. There will be no other parking available in Bishop’s Castle on the day of the Fair. The walk from the car park to the Michaelmas Fair will take roughly 10 minutes, crossing a road, following a footpath then pavement.
Alternatively Dial-a-Ride will be providing a free shuttle to the Fair from the car park 11.30am-6pm. The mini bus has a lowered step for entry but unfortunately cannot offer wheelchair access.
Wheelchair users are advised to park at Bishop’s Castle Community College. From here you can follow the pavement to the Fair. Please note there are very limited disabled parking bays here.
Michaelmas Fair
The Michaelmas Fair is a street fair, largely taking place on Church Street and the incline of the High Street. However the whole town is involved with live music, pop ups and performances.
Those who are sensitive to noise, please be aware there will be loud and unexpected noise from the steam engines and performances.
